Crail benefits from a very good bus service with buses running from Leven, through Crail and on to St Andrews and back every hour.  Buses run regularly from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee into St Andrews, and the Dundee bus  stops at Leuchars Train Station for drop-off and uplift.

The nearest train station is at Leuchars, which is situated between Dundee and St Andrews.  Trains run regularly between Aberdeen and Edinburgh, through Leuchars and East Coast trains run through Leuchars south to England.
